Iran Super Thread- Merged

Man, who friggin’ knows. But we’re already at the point of a world leader threatening the death of a civilization… It’s profoundly, unabashedly evil even just to say or threaten that, but even still we’re gonna see people line up to minimize, defend or even support it. Only using such a threat as a rhetorical device or negotiating tactic is still evil… The U.S. is the world’s biggest power, nuclear armed, and its president is threatening the death of a civilization.

I’m so sick of how normalized all the things he says have become, how incremental the utter madness has been to the point where something like this can be said and we’re all responding with a raised eyebrow like “oh well that’s slightly crazier than two days ago” and then we carry on.

Stepping outside of my clear distaste for Trump as a person and president- what does this do to America’s place and influence in the world?
If this becomes 'normalized' to the average American, just imagine what he can say/do to other countries - like Greenland or Cuba or Canada.

Hegseth is reading passages from the Bible, Exodus apparently, while the rescue op was underway…

No one knew they had the pilot, until they made the announcement that they did? It doesn't take much to put 1 and 1 together to figure out they didn't have both at the time. As for the WSO that whole saga is documented here, including the ground zero source that everyone was citing that knew about it hours before it was official. And it wasn't a news org.

Well the fact that the Iranians had the ejection seats and no bodies nearby so it would be pretty obvious to the them that there a couple Americans on the loose.

And speaking about Opsec, I was reading a transcript about Trump describing the rescue of the WSO and he said (IIRC), " he was climbing to the high ground like he was trained." So the next time there is US aircrew down behind enemy lines, the bad guys now know where to start searching!
