Iran Super Thread- Merged

What would be the cause of all that?
Actual physical shortage of oil a available for actual delivery, and the resultant compromise of supply chains and increased cost of logistical transportation.

Also the commodity market costs of petrochemicals and fertilizers due to net producers and exporters still selling into the world market.

Lots of potential for chaos. The markets continue to bet this will swiftly resolve when it’s past the point of even a resolution implemented today playing out quickly.

I can't imagine the panic in Tel Aviv and Gulf capitals. This was their only shot at concessions on terrorism from Iran. Or even regime change.

US cuts a deal on nuclear material and leaves.
Also, the KMT in Taiwan is literally telling people that the US will not rescue them so it's better to cut a deal with China. Can't imagine how this is playing out over there.
When did they cut a deal and now are prepared to leave? Can you give us a link to that info?
The KMT thing has been going on since before the action in Iran, the new chairman seems to like China more that the US.

No, it's dependent on a signed agreement. The following is from the NPR piece already linked above. I don't see how Iran will be allowed through the blockade as of now.
So is the strait open or not?

The lack of clarity here is giving me a headache.

The Iranians make all kinds of claims in their releases that have no basis in reality. You can say Trump can be hard to figure out as well, he speaks sort of like a character in a 1930s movie or a newspaper man from the 20s.

Iranian government press releases or trump tweets...

You know what,im out. A pox on both their houses.

If you look at what Trump said like he was the average New Yorker talking to the their buddies on a street corner, then it sort of can make sense.

Not necessarily that he makes sense, but his manner of talk.

This resonates...

The biggest obstacle to an Iran deal may be Trump’s ego

Arab and U.S. officials say Iran will need to save face if the goal is a comprehensive agreement.

President Donald Trump’s constant belittling of Iranian leaders is alarming some Arab and U.S. officials familiar with the Middle East who worry that such insults could prove a major obstacle to truly ending a war that has strained the world economy.

At the core of their concern is whether Trump is willing to show Tehran’s Islamist leaders enough respect to let them claim some level of victory, even if they agree to U.S. demands that leave them militarily weaker.

But Trump’s history of nursing grudges, ridiculing opponents and insisting he wins everything doesn’t bode well for those hoping diplomacy can bring the war to a close, according to interviews with 10 current and former U.S. and Arab officials.

“He badly wants this to end,” a senior Gulf Arab official familiar with the peace talks said of Trump. “But the Iranians are so far refusing to give him what he needs to save face and leave. And he does not seem to understand that they need to save face, too.”

Has it reached the point where we call this war a farce?
A farcical aquatic ceremony??

More info on the sudden pause of Project Freedom

Saudi Arabia denied the US use of it's airspace and bases for the operation.

They are quite literally just throwing things at a wall.

Trump surprised Gulf allies by announcing “Project Freedom” on social media Sunday afternoon, the officials said, angering leadership in Saudi Arabia. In response, the Kingdom informed the U.S. it would not allow the U.S. military to fly aircraft from Prince Sultan Airbase southeast of Riyadh or fly through Saudi airspace to support the effort, the officials said.

A call between Trump and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman did not resolve the issue, the two U.S. officials said, forcing the president to pause Project Freedom in order to restore U.S. military access to the critical airspace.

Other close Gulf allies were also caught off guard; the president spoke with leaders in Qatar after the effort had already begun.

I'm no expert, but usually food shortages are caused by a lack of food.
Yes
And I’ve seen interviews with Irish farmers saying that they have chosen not to plant any crops this season because of the costs of diesel and fertilizer.
So, a reduction in the amount of food being grown leads to a reduction in the food available.
