Iran has claimed to have fired at a U.S. base from which attacks were launched. If they only fired a missile or three, probably it’s a ‘face saving’ shot that they knew wouldn’t get through to hit anything.

I don’t see this suddenly resolving quickly.

US and Iran reach tentative deal to open strait and start nuclear talks​

But...

A tentative agreement has been reached in talks between the United States and Iran, US officials said Thursday, though President Donald Trump hasn’t signed off on it and the situation in the region remained tense.

Trump’s approval will be key to any agreement, officials cautioned, and the president said a day earlier he wasn’t satisfied with the current state of talks. It also wasn’t clear whether Iran’s Supreme Leader had given his sign-off, another necessary step toward ending the conflict.

A band, presumedly made up of USAF pilots, making AI music, released the album “Alarm Red” and it is mostly about Operation Epic Fury. While meant to me humourous, there is still some truths in the songs which gives an aperture on how the war is perceived by USAF pilots.

The song “Dude (Skit it)” seems to be partly about the F-15Es that were shot down by Kuwait.
“The ballad of Esfahan” is about the F-15E shoot down by Iran and the subsequent rescue.
“AFCENT Anthem” is about the perception of the operational level by the tactical level.

There are a lot of acronyms and inside fighter pilot knowledge required to decipher the entirety of songs but I am happy to be the translator!
