Hi,

As some of you may know, I'm currently working for the Federal Government. Still thinking about joining and almost ready to go. I do have one question when it comes to pension. I think that government employees and military personnel have the same plan. It's called the superannuation plan I believe?

Anyways the question is; would my years of service or amount of money contributed to the plan from the Federal Gov. be transfered over to the Military one?

If anyone could shed some light on that, it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!   :salute:

I'm sure someone on this board can provide an answer.

However, I would be best for you to talk to a recruiter at CFRC, as s/he will be able to provide all the details on the pension plan -- likely the most current and relevant info.

Is there a recruiter that you've been speaking to already? If so, ask that person, as s/he may be familiar with your background and/or interests.

You should talk to the pension representative for your current employer, they should be most up to date on the possibilities.

Thats a pretty good question and I hope it works out in your favor.  I do believe though that you will have to put in 25 years of service before you are able to colect the base pension of what?  55%?  Hopefully in your case that after 25 years you will be able to put your current pension towards your military one anbd colect a higher pension percentage.

But like the other posts stated...you would be better off contacting your recruiter or your pension representative.

Try this thread for some answers (I knew this sounded familiar!):
