I get sworn into the navy in a month or so and they said I could bring family. Will most people do this or will I show up and it'll just be me n my family? ;p

YES!  My husband and kids were at mine and when my boys joined we were at theirs. There were quite a few families there.  Also at the basic training graduation there were a LOT of people there.

To be sworn in, were is it held? Is it held in the province in which you applied or elsewhere?

It should be at the recruiting centre you've been dealing with.

Quite normal and encouraged. I remember asking if my Dad (an LCol at the time) could administer the oath and the RC had no problem with that at all.
