Hey all I just wanted to know if it was true that CSIS will actually follow you around for a day or two when you are applying for sigop? Well this is what i was told by one of my friends. He said that the reason for it was because as a Sig op you have a Level 3 Top Secret Clarence. Now I don't know if this is true or not, but I would like to know. I think it is kinda interresting if it's true. Anyways if anybody has any info on this please let me know. Oh by the way I'm not asking cause I'm a trouble maker or anythinglike that (IE. drugs, gang stuff or anything else) I'm just interrested.

Thanks in advance for any info anybody can give me. Thanks again! :salute: :cdn:

uhhhhhh...   NO!

Edit:  and you might want to get rid of that avatar if you are still a civilian.

haha, no that's not true at all. SigOps get TS...eventually. You can find an overview of the clearance process on the CSIS website.

And as a pre-emptive strike, no they don't make you take a polygraph either.

thanks for the info guys, just wanted to know, cause i got the info from a friend of mine that dose basically the same thing as a Sig op in the navy, was just interrested. thanks again, and by the way Sundborg I'm a Private in the Reserves. But thanks again! Now if anybody else that dosn't have any attitude good give me some more info like Tribal Jedi that is usefull please let me know! Thanks in advance again!

Hrmm....I never got followed around...soooooooo...well hopefully I didn't I'm not smart about that kinda thing. As for Top Secret Clearence I'm not sure when you get it...although it does say on my docket for some reason that I have a 3 level. Weird huh...

I wasn't trying to give you a hard time FX or anything like that.   It just does not say that you are in the reserves or anything like that in your profile, and yet it does say "Civilian" on your Avatar handle thing, so you may want to change that so other people don't get on you like I did.   ;)

After you join the military, if your trade is a level 3 security clearance, like mine is (285), then CSIS will run another check on you once you have completed basic training.

Whats the big deal with the rank thing??? this ISNT an official website ppl................

no but you have ALOT of military types who use the ranks on this forum as representation of their OFFICIAL rank.

FX it DOES say your a civilian, it DOESN'T say your in the reserves or have ANY military experience and you did as a rather silly question IMHO.
I thought you were a civilian too.

Make sure you wear your tin-foil hat during the time it takes to complete your Sec Clearence and you should be fine. ;)

While I really don't think they actually follow you around for a day (good god, Who'd you have to piss off to get that job?), They do and will personally interview most if not evey person you name on that security clearence sheet you fill out. Not only the persons named, but will go back to your old residences and ask if people know you and what type of person you were...

Living in the same PMQ's for the last 7 yrs of my career, I have been interviewed more then once about my former nieghbours.

No, it isn't an official website.  However, (as I have been shown  :) ) it does project a lack of respect to those that have earned the right to their stripes (or what have you), and having a civvy wear them doesn't go over well.  So, official or not, it's a good idea not to portray yourself as a military member in a military forum when there are (obviously) many military members, official or not.  You have the opportunity to learn a lot from very experienced members here, but if you show them any disrespect (military avatar, etc) you close that resource off.

I agree with all that Torlyn said, and i am sorry that i didn't have the fact that i am reserves and not a civillian. I am sorry and i have made the necessary changes to reflect that i am in the millitary.

Er, you might want to change the avatar too...  Still have the military one...  ;)

Why would i change the avatar, i'm a private in the reserves, so i have no reason to change it, it is my official rank ;D
