Israeli strikes on Iran (2024, 2025, etc.)

Nothing permanent will happen until the Infantry gets boots on the ground, in some way, shape of form, of course.
And the history of Iraq enters the chat …
The son doesn't seem to take too much after the father, politically. From what I've found, SAVAK of the past wouldn't mesh very well with his more liberal beliefs today specifically on human rights.
That’s how it tends to start, anyway :)

There's the classic Doonesbury cartoon, where a journalist is about to interview the students who seized the US Embassy, and warns that they may try to make statements to appeal to the US public. First thing a student representative says is "Death to Carter!"

If Israel has air superiority over Iran it's no wonder they (Iran) are asking the US to intervene. Ironic. Whatever happened to "death to USA!".

Trump said that Tehran reached out to his administration in an attempt to stop the barrage of Israeli strikes that have decimated Iran's nuclear facilities and military sites.

If I’m the USA:

Go eff your hat

It’s not like they can ask Russia to send over any planes….

We're probably about to see serious escalation. Notice the highlight choice, Rubio has also retweeted this.

The sky above Tehran is currently lit up by heavy AA fire.

The fact that they are able to keep crossing Syria/Jordan/Iraq in some manner, again and again and again and again without losing a single planes says:
1) Those 3 countries are ‘letting’ the Israeli’s cross uncontested
2) Those 3 countries are just as helpless to stop the Israeli planes as Iran is.
3) The F35 is one fucking head and shoulders above the rest fighter out there
Wildcard:
4) US is ‘helping’ the Israelis showcase the F35 so that Canada, and any others, can clearly see the value of said aircraft.

I'd say the same... but I think Trump will want to appear magnanimous and be the peace broker.
Here's his chance to make a DEAL deal, indeed.
If only the JCPOA was still in place....

Clown
C'mon, it's not as if the president in place (wonder who that was?) when the deal was torn up didn't have good reasons, right? Am I right? ;)

Trump has left G7 early, and in the past half hour has tweeted these on his Truth Social account:

Not sure if we’re at “hold on to your butts” yet but it’s feeling a bit closer…
Well I wonder what Carney is thinking right about now?

Pluses:
  • Agreed to have a trade agreement locked down in the next 30 days
  • He and Trump looked to get along well
  • No 51st State chatter
  • Trump didn’t lose it on Carney or anyone on our side

Negatives
  • The other G5 countries got zero face time with Trump
  • The other G20 countries invited got zero fact time with Trump
  • No chance for US/Ukraine to mend any bridges
  • Have to wonder if the other G5 countries see any value in staying for the remaining 2 days
