Congrats

I checked your profile, an the canadian abbrevation is Private is Pte, Pvt is American.

I woulden't say your officially a Soldier just yet, just a member of the CF. Wait till you pass BMQ and SQ.

Im Jelous.

At what point are you a private? When you sighn the dotted line to go BMQ or after BMQ?

When you first join the Army an sign the contract you are a Pte(Recruit) after BMQ you are a Pte(Basic) once you are trades trained an have TI you become a Pte(Trained) an get your hook. In the Reserve you become a Pte(T) an get your hook right after your QL3/DP1 unlike the Reg Force.

Pte(R) - Private (Recruit) on enrolment.

Pte(B) - Private (Basic) after Recruit Training.

Pte(T) - Private (Trained) after trade training, i.e, MOC training.

Some specialist trades have different early progression.
