Umm, if I am reading this correctly, then this was Iraqi army (read, the good guys) who got blown up trying to CLEAR an IED, not some terrorist trash placing an IED...

Somalia: 3 militants killed by land mine

EL-BUR, Somalia, May 10 (UPI) -- Witnesses said three al-Shabaab militants were killed Thursday morning when they accidentally detonated a land mine near El-Bur, Somalia.  The three militants were trying to place the land mine just outside El-Bur when it went off, the Shabelle Media Network said.  "We heard the blast early on Thursday morning an area not far away form El-Bur, where al-Shabaab militants wanted to place in the ground a land mine, but it detonated ... and killed three of them," a witness told Shabelle.
