Jimmy Carter, 39th President of The United States, Passes Away at 100

Widely considered below-average as far as Presidents of the USA go, he did have some notable achievements, including the Camp David Accords (Peace treaty between Egypt and Israel) and the SALT II treaty with the USSR. He led global opposition to the USSR's invasion of Afghanistan, but his presidency was forever marred by events in Iran.

I've always said he should have been awarded the Cross of Valour for that one.

And what about the other approx 1300 workers who also were involved in the clean-up of that nuclear accident? Especially those who were there during the several weeks after the accident before then Lt Carter's small US Navy team arrived.

And of course, the "Cross of Valour" hadn't yet been created in the 1950s (that did come until the 1970s); the equivalent level decoration at the time was the "George Cross".
