Now I want fair ranking on your reports to follow - a hint - he didn't get good comments from the Globe Story - lets try and do better :)

The second (Valpy) article is actually from 2006.  Don't know why they've put it up with today's date - maybe they're reprinting it in tomorrow's G&M.

I did enjoy this quote from the Valpy article: "His IQ is off the Richter scale".  Considering the Richter scale only goes up to 10, that's not saying much :)

Harper should not attack Ignatieff but his platform - I doubt Iggy could defend it other than give a lecture. And that may be his downfall - he can't get personal and will not come down to the level of everyday voters - I think our history - beginning with what I read from WW1 screams that out. Also remember that one of the greatest Liberal brains of the Depression and WW2 - Andy McNaughton - was defeated when they tried to get him a Liberal seat. And - curiously enough, his father was a senior worker for McNaughton. The two stories suggest to me he's an over achiever because he was away from is family from the age of eleven and over achieves to gain his absent father's affection which the story suggests he never had. I can't imagine that working out well. As for his formative years helping out prisoners - what will he do for our system that warehouses people? Won't hear a word from him.

My take is Harper has been distant but is getting closer all the time to the voter (except in Quebec) and has a head start on voter identification.

The biggest reading I have is he likes to prescribe and the winner will describe the end of election result.

Getting a handle of politicians - http://www.nytimes.com/2006/06/15/opinion/15trillin.html

Read what he says about Condaleeza Rice

Possibly thin on content but thats all the voter's mind can absorb before the ballaot box :)
