Hi Everyne, I'm 25, I want to join as a Sig Op reservist.
About 4 years ago now, I had an event where I went to see my family doctor because I said to them that I've had ideas of suicide. (I was more scared of having idea than wanting to do it, but I still asked for help for that stuff).
Due to healthcare cuts in my area, my clinic couldnt provide a psycologist and was to receive a call by a social worker but that never happened. I ended taking it upon myself to get out of this rough episode. So no diagnosis, no followed care and no medication. I wonder of how much of that will hurt my application process, should I still bother with applying ? I was thinking of getting a letter and assessment from my family doctor even before applying, is that a good strategy ? I was told by some people that since nothing really happen to no bring it up or tick the mental health history. Not sure if thats a good strategy either.
I have ADHD and was medicated for it so I know they will look in my medical record, so should I be open from the get go ?
