if i join the reserves, can i be a sniper? im 16 and i have been on a range team in cadets for 3 years, i am the range NCOIC and my average is 97.5 with the c no. 7 lee enfield without a scope. is it possible to go through sniper training at my age :sniper: ? i am an american and canadian citizen, will i loose my u.s. citizenship if i join the can. reserves?

what can you do in the reserves other than being a regular infantry soldier?

....not again..

Yes, a reserve infanteer can take the course, but for a reserve to get on the course, would probably be difficult.

Before you can take the sniper course, I believe you need to take the Recce course aswell.

You might have to, i forget the term, but you need to get get rid of your dual citisen, an just have a canadian one.

Just cause your 16, doesnt mean you can enlist, you also need your grade 10 completed, too.

theres lots of different trades you can go into in the reserve, aside from the infantry.

if your a reserve infanteer, you can get your jump wings(any MOC can), take the support weaposn course, recce course, etc

i live next to the 6th field engineers sqn, in vancouver, bc. what is a good infantry sqn to be recruited into close by,

sry but i dont know much about recuiting. thank you all for your help. :)

Theres no such thing as a infantry squadron...

Theres a reserve infantry regiment in Vancouver, the SeaForth Highlanders, also, theres the Royal Westminister Regiment in New West.

this might sound stupid, ( i dont know anything, im just trying to learn) but is there a difference other than their locations? and to a previous reply, wat is the recce course?

yet again thank you all for your help

I believe the RWR is a bigger unit, they used to have a Jump tasking back when the CAR was around

The Seaforth wear kilts

there both good regiments

Recce is reconnaissance

Just go down to the units, and talk to the recruiters, you can get all the info you want, an in more detail.

oh, one other question, what is the pay in the reserves and do you get paid for going to summer courses and how much?

thanks again

Go to the recruiting website and search this board. We are not CFRC.
