Hi

Im just looking for some general info on being in the reserves during a school period as I will be attending college come september for police foundations because i want to be a MP. Any information about this topic would be very helpful...especially to a girl who keeps getting told she cant do it :P

It's possible to be in the reserves and go to school at the same time, it just takes time management. I went through Law and Security and Police Foundations (currently in my last semester of PF) and I didn't have very much difficulty.

Also don't listen to people who say you can't do it. You can do anything you put your mind to.

With any degree of time management it should be very easy to balance college and part time service in the reserves. You're usually only looking at one night a week, one weekend a month. Through in a second job and it can get tricky, but the reserves is practically tailored for students.

Thats good to hear. My situation is a bit different, but I am also a college student, going to Uni in the fall, and was thinking of joining the reserves (but not for MP). I was not sure if I should wait two more years to get all my post secondary done, but now that you say it can easily work with schooling, I am going to consider that. I believe we have a reserve unit here in Lethbridge so that should work fine.

Thanks
