Question for anyone that uses Julian dates in their paperwork.  Is there a way to get Microsoft Outlook to display the Julian Date on the Calendar?

Some options can be found in the discussion here in message 5 and 6:  http://help.wugnet.com/office/julian-date-outlook-2007-ftopict1183284.html

Can anybody explain why the Julian Calendar is still in use, does it still serve a a specific purpose?

I was told to use it as part of my document reference number on order forms. We use our account number, julian date, initial and then number of the document.  For example "AL01682014MA01" so they no it came from account AL0168 on Jan 14, 2012, and it was the first document that I did that day.  Whether I agree with it or not that is how I have been told to do 2777 forms.  A supply tech can probable explain a lot better than me.

I still use it in the file number of my letters for some reason (I inherited the process when I moved into the position).  Hmmmm have to look at that now.  Why am I using it??

File number already indicates where to file it so why Julian??

Letters are dated when signed so why Julian (repetitive dating)??

Dang - thanks guys for making my day.

There are many use for Julian Dates.  First, to know whether or not it's an odd day within the years.  Used a lot when you load 2 crypto days in a system.
