Hi, I am joining the Canadian Army Reserve. I am 16 years old. In the interview he said you need to get a list of your marks (School transcript). I've been in high school for 1 and 1/2 years now. My average in school is a 58. This year I took math over again and I have about a 82 in it right now. Which will bring my last sem mark up to a 70ish and this midterm report mark is not here. Will this effect my chances of joining the reserve because I am shooting to be a medic and need about a 70 average.

Take a look at this thread here: http://army.ca/forums/threads/12734.0.html

Make sure you're taking Biology in school if you're planning on becoming a MedTech

As far as I know the requirements for reserves in the case of a careers as a med tech should be the same as the reg force qualifications, which means you need to have graduated high school with credits in grade 12 biology and chemistry. You must also hold a valid driver's licence (Most likely class 5). This is the info from the CF recruiting site, if you have been told differently by a recruiter because you are still in high school, then go with what they say, but from the sounds of things, you don't meet the requirements for that trade yet.

Also, the marks they will be looking at to generate your admission average willb e from grade 10, 11, and 12 combined, as well as any post secondary courses you might take. You will also have to attain a certain result on the CFAT to qualify in addition to your marks.

Here is the link for the trade on the recruiting site. Remember, some trades require more qualifications than others.

Good luck!

PLease do not confuse Regular Force and Reserve Force Recruiting Criteria.
