Why not just design a sharper looking combat uniform that we can wear full colour insignia on, medal ribbons, etc? Is this what you mean by showing readiness? In time of War, all the insignia can be dispensed with. **** , how many Yanks have Class A uniforms at all? Get rid of the DEUs altogether - there is nothing military about them anymore. If they were khaki, I might feel differently. As a Highlander, I would want to wear my kilt for ceremonial, but you can do what with a combat shirt as easily as with a DEU shirt.

I don‘t think wearing a uniform for the purpose of going to work to wear a different uniform makes any sense. It always struck me as amusing that if I want to walk across the parade square on parade night to go to the bathroom, I have to put my hat on to do it. Only in the army, do you have to dress up to take a leak!!!!

You do have some good points - now do you have some specific suggestions?
