I found a beer stein at a garage sale this weekend. It has an artillery pattern collar soldered to it; the CANADA in the banner style and it is engraved Lieut. J.W. MacDougall 1934. This doesn't necessarily mean he was in the RCA but I think it's a good bet. I'm thinking I might be able to find out who this chap was because this dates from a time when the Canadian Army was quite small.
Any ideas of where I could look at an Officers Role or Army List or some such thing for a little more info?
Oddly, (or perhaps not) the glass bottomed pewter stein is made in China with lots of Chinese markings on it as well as Kut Hing Swatow, the maker.
Thanks.
