I am sorry if this question has been asked before but I could not find it any were .. After you have completed your officer training .. Do you get posted were the infantry needs you most or more on skills .. For example lets say I completed my training and was posted to the light infantry is that due to demand or skill seen through basic training ? thanks Royle

As an Infantry Officer you are trained in both Dismounted and Mechanized roles before you are fully qualified. You can request your battalion, but the needs of the Army come first and you may not get your first pick. You'll find that your battalion's focus will fluctuate depending on what it is doing and from the looks of things all 9 battalions are moving towards a mix of capabilities so don't expect to go somewhere and never see a LAV or a RG....
