Can anyone reccomend a good light summer sleeping bag? Any price range. I've heard names like Snugpak and Arktis tossed around. They any good? Pics and links would be great. I'm tired of sweating all summer. thanks
Ive got a merlin softy 3 and dont rate it at all, Ive been cold in it in places like East Timor, Darwin, Solomon Islands and the far north of New Zealand which is warm, have a look at Wiggys they are alot warmer and compress down very well. My softie is a left hand zip and I'd trade it willingly as I dont use it any more, Bolty

Just got their summer weight bag, It is fantastic and they are based out of Calgary. I have yet to try it, but I suspect that the bag will fit into one of the 5 litre pouches on the small pack. All compressed it is the same size as a can of coffee.

When Roto 1 arrived I discovered the new poncho liner has a zipper, which turns it into an expedient sleeping bag (which can be combined with a felt liner and Goretex bivvy bag for non-arctic snoozing).
Years ago on Mattawa Plain they issued Canadian Tire specials if new troops didn't have their CF issue yet - again, affordable (and disposable ... when folks got poison ivy ...).
When my Mo pension plan kicks in I'll check out Brigade Quartermaster online, or Mountain Eqpt Co-op (but, I haven't checked my winning numbers yet this morning).
