Hey guys, I'm not sure this post is in the right forum, but here it goes.  I am thinking about going the army and go into the infantry and I was wondering what are the living quarters like on the base?  How big are the rooms?  Do you have a roommate?  Are you allowed to decorate at all and bring in personal things IE TV, computer, stereo etc or do you just have a bed and a dresser?  Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

I talked with the recruiters at the local recruiting center here in Calgary, and while I am ***FAR*** from an expert, I'm told that you have the choice between singles and married apartments and small houses (depending on the base and the amount of personel on site), that is equivalent to a downtown Calgary apartment (approx 500-1000 sq feet of living space, depending on where in Calgary you shop). The recruiting sgt also told me that you can have some personal effects, but, in his words, "nothing that can't be taken down and carted off within a day of notice." So, no supergluing your plasma screen to the wall :P

Remember, I am NOT an expert on this and I am going off what the sergeant at the recruiting center told me  :salute:
