I got my offer for MarTech and my enrolment is set in November. But since the process took so long, I’ve already started my first marine engineering course in college. I wanted to take the chance with the Navy, but this morning a classmate who was in the Navy told me that some people ended up waiting a year just to start their training.
I’m in Halifax, and what really worries me is the possibility of being sent to BC and having to wait around for months before QL3 starts basically doing nothing the whole time. That’s a lot to take on, especially being so far from home.
I really like the idea of working on warships, but if it means spending a year in BC just waiting for training, I’m not sure the Navy is the right choice for me after all.
