Hey all,

I have a 5 day weekend coming up next weekend and want to go somewhere FUN!  I'm in Cold Lake right now (lucky me!), and my roommate & I are tossing around ideas.  There's always Edmonton, Calgary, Jasper & Banff - but hey.. been there done that.

Where else?? She said Fort McMurray is supposedly 'fun'.

Anyone from around the area have any suggestions????

We might drive to the states or something too - not sure.

Haha, yes - I heard Wainwright is the party capital of Alberta!

It's probably worse than Cold Lake.  Thanks for the advice though :p

5 day all inclusive in mexico.......about 600 bucks. 2 or 3 talented soldiers can drink that in Edmonton in a weekend......

We looked up all inclusive packages - but only to the states.  It was minimum $600 to anywhere in the states.

Why can't there be somewhere fun & super cheap to go?  Damn Cold Lake and its isolation.

Vancouver is about 16 hours by car...Or you might get a cheap flight out there from Edmonton.

Red Deer is totally the place to go... ***********************************************************************************But seriously, I believe Banff is slow this time of year so you might be able to find a hotel at a discount price. Maybe even try Jasper or surrounding area.

Mod edit.

Lets not talk about minors like that please.

Ahh, Ft Mac is fun if you're a crack addict or a hooker. Do not go there, it's horrible. Ton's of men with tons of money that are locked up with no place to go and nothing to do but drink and do drugs, you imagine the rest. If you've done all the hotspots in Alberta, I suggest BC, there are some great spots out there. How about the Radium Hot Springs, Whistler or maybe even Vancouver.

Come down to Montreal you just gonna love it trust me this town never sleeps especially on the weekends imagine a Saturday night you can't walk on the streets, in downtown around 1 am in the morning there is a big traffic plus people everywhere and the party its just starting.....you should love it, personally i am bored been to many times  ;D now i hang out in the bars its better, like this i can talk to the girls without screaming.

Enjoy

Judy, I didn't realize that you were such a party animal. I should have mentioned that in my description of Bagotville. Chicoutimi and Jonquiere are good places to party. A little bit on the younger side but there are also some good 21+ bars around. Myself and my house mates go out quite often...we'll show you around when get here. When are you expected to get posted here anyways?

Hahah well I try to hide the party animal side of myself when Im at work, but it just doesn't want to stay hidden!!

I'll take you up on that offer for sure - I love the older crowd bars.  I was supposed to be coming in October, but it got pushed back to January now - right after the block leave.  Btw - when is the block leave there?

Yeah I didn't really think Ft Mac was the hidden gem of Alberta, but my roommate assured me it was!

Radium Hot Springs? Where's that?  I've been to the hotsprings in Jasper, and it was nice, but not what I expected.

http://www.radiumhotsprings.com/ http://www.pc.gc.ca/regional/sourcesthermales-hotsprings/visit/radium_e.asp  It's a sweet spot. I assure you that Ft Mac is not a party spot. All my family lives in Edmonton and works in Ft Mac, they can't wait to get out of there on the weekends. It's a tough place.

Whistler is one of my favorite party places.  Never had a bad time there!

Hey go to Calgary. Calgary has a real nice night life and lots to do during the day (if you wake up).    I too am in Cold Lake, what a place to be. Ok not really but it pays allright. Good partying

I think we might be resigned to going to Edmonton - go to West Ed (and maybe go in the water park if we're feeling REALLY crazy!), get some sushi, go down to White Ave.  That's probably where we'll end up.  Blah.

Maybe I can convince her to go to Calgary or Whistler - Edmonton is so.. blah.

Where do you work CTD? I'm at 42
