Looking for advice and tips about CEOTP program or just on which path I should take.

I will start with a story about my life just to give you a little insight.

I am a Canadian citizen living in Slovenia, Europe and have been my whole life. I have dual citizenship, Slovene and Canadian. Curently 17 years of age (turning 18 in late October) and attending highschool in Slovenia. I am attending my fourth year which I pressume is the equvilent to 12th grade (Ontario, not completly sure about other regions). I will finish my highschool education this year with final exams (MATURA) which will sum up the knowledge from 4 years of highschool. For the classes on these exams I have chosen Physics, Computer Information and also 3 mandatory classes: Slovenian, English and Mathemathics. Results of these tests will be known on 16.7.2015. As for my extracurricular activities I do sports (tennis, running, fitness-occasionally, chess-if I can count that as a sport), am a member at my local "students club" (dont know how the english word) but as for jobs, heavent had any so far since its really hard to get a job over here and even harder to get a job as a minor. Now I have come to a point in my life where I have to decide about my future. I have weighed several options but my passion for the army, flying, engineering has prevailed, I would say. My plan is to apply for CEOTP in a trade that combines both engineering and flying. Of course the ideal trade for me would be a pilot, but researching and reading has led me to beleive that only a "lucky few" get accepted, and by that I mean the ones who are persistent and diligent in their hard work. I would like to count myself into this bunch but I realize I need to have some alternative options set. I understand that this is a longshot but I will resent myself for my whole life if I don't try.

I have a some questions but any advice and constructive cryticism is always welcome.

1.) When should I submit my application considering I get my results of the final exams on the 16th of July 2015?
2.) How will I get my grades converted to the Canadian grading system? (I have read that this is done through ICAS, but still having some drawbacks since whenever I see someone posting their highschool results they list it in precentages and here we dont use precentages, only having 5 grades 5 being the highest)
3.) Which papers, evidence and background checks would I have to attach and for whom (parents and myself)?
4.) Should I finish a civilian university first and then try to apply? (Which path is better for me considering my situation)
5.) How hard will this be for me realistically, again considering my situation?
6.) Do the interwievs need to be conducted in person or can an option like Skype be considered?

This is it for my request, if anyone needs any additional information in order to provide more detailed answers fell free to ask me.
Also, I am not a native English speaker so my English can be a little iffy.
I don't know if I have placed this thread in the right section, so please, if you think it will fair better in any other section move it.

Best Regards, Luka.

Good Day Luka,

Thank you for your interest in the Canadian Armed Forces as a future employer. You may submit your application at any time for the CEOTP pilot training plan as you’re currently in your final year of high school. That being said until you have your non Canadian education evaluated by a credential assessment service to determine the Canadian equivalent there may be processing delays.

This link will take you to the approved credential evaluation services. Some charge a fee and others are free to provide the assessment.  http://www.canalliance.org/

The pilot occupation entry plan requirements including high school courses can be found at: http://www.forces.ca/en/job/pilot-32

Once you've submitted your online application a recruiting center will be in contact with you via email to ensure you gather all the required documents and information for processing. Once you’ve provided the recruiting center with the required documents to determine if you’re suitable for further processing they will conduct an initial assessment towards your chosen occupation and entry plan. If you are approved for further processing, arrangements between a recruiting center and yourself will be made to come back to Canada for further processing.

I have answered your questions in general, if you have additional questions requiring clarification on applying while not currently living in Canada feel free to ask.

Thank you for your answer.

I have another question regarding refferences. As I reside outside Canada may I ask how will they be contacted since english is not their first language and most of the speak only Slovene?

Best regards, Luka.

Good day,

When including your references please indicate the language that they speak. If they are required to be contacted a translator may be used between the recruiter and your references.
