Hello,

I'm writing a story for a college-based magazine that's geared towards interesting things students do with their time outside of school. I've already interviewed a recruiter in Winnipeg, but would like to speak with any reservist who can give a unique perspective and/or share stories of your weekend/evening adventures. I'd prefer to speak with students, but any member will do.

Thank you so much,

S. McLeod

I'd talk to you, but I am clueless as to the legality of me giving an interview. I know on civvie street at my old job, this would be a big no no. Any more enlightened members care to share the rules regarding this?

If you're from Winnipeg, get ahold of the 38 Brigade Public Affairs Office.  They can probably get you what you need.

Anyone thinking about being the source of an interview should contact their Unit/Brigade/Base/Formation Public Affairs Office (PAO) prior to doing so. They will inform you of the do's and don't when being interviewed.

And if someone in the reserves DOES give an interview, for god sakes don't say it's fun to shoot people  :blotto:

smcleod, I'll see if i can help you. I'll see about getting approval from my higher ups, and get back to you ASAP. Shoot me a PM with what you'd like and what its for so i can be clear and concise through my chain of command as to what I'm asking for.

The full-time 38 CBG PAO is Lt A. Bineau. She can be reached at the Bde HQ (204) 833-2500 Extension. 6543
or cell: (204) 227-3860. Good luck with your interview, and remember "In your own lane".

Cheers

Thank you to everyone who has replied. I spoke with Lt. Bineau this afternoon, and she's been of great help. Hopefully I'll be able to meet with members of 38th as early as this Saturday.

I have a lot of respect for you guys, and would never try to write something sleezy/cheap. This article is all about promoting the reservist option for students who are interested in doing something challenging and unique with their free time outside of school.
