My name is Joseph Boyden, and I‘m looking for any information regarding my father, Lt. Colonel Raymond Wilfrid Boyden, D.S.O., M.D., C.D.  He served throughout WWII, first with The Irish Regiment of Canada, and then with the Cape Breton Highlanders.  If you‘ve got any info or know anyone who might have known him, please let me know.

Edited by Vern to capitalize "Wilfred" in the topic title.

Your best bet would be to request his military service records from the National Archives of Canada. Here‘s the link for military records:

Otherwise, you may want to get in touch with the regimental associations of both regiments. They may be able to get you in touch with some of the men he served with

Boyden was the Irish Regiment of Canada's MO prior to going overseas. I do not know when he transfered to the CBH but I suspect it was in 42 while the Regiment was in Mulgrave

Mr. Boyden. We have spoken in the past. My father was in CBH. As he was wounded three times, it was probably your father who pulled the shrapnel out of him! Please note this news item concerning another CBH veteran: https://www.blogto.com/city/2020/02/toronto-war-veteran-birthday/
