The Mad Max franchise has a new big name star - Charlize Theron.

The Oscar-winner has signed up to appear in Mad Max: Fury Road, which will see Brit Tom Hardy taking over the role made famous by Mel Gibson.

I don't think a prequel will do the series any justice. Even though the third was more hollywoodized, a new film will be too main stream and lose its cult appeal. I highly doubt it will make me run to the theater to see it...

If Mel Gibson were to star in Fury Road, he would need a motorized walker. One of the problems of a franchise lying dormant for several decades.

I was buffered by multiple conflicting reviews of Fury Road, especially the ones critical of it since Mad Max is apparently not even the "main" character. I suppose I will have to take my chances at the theatre.

Go see it. Seriously.  Yes, people with varying agendas have put their twist on the film, but Max is the main character.  Period.
