MAN walks through a window .... ????????

I've seen his show a few times "Chris Angel - Mindfreak", weird stuff, especially when he walked down the side of a building.

My sister walked through one of our glass doors once. I think my dad had to take her to the hospital.

Im not buying Chris Angel. David Blaine (sp??) does very similar things as Angel, but although plays the "mythical powers" card on people during his trick, he also firmly pushes the "nothing is as it seems" idea.

I think he's just a good magician, nothing more.

(I hate his music as well...)

what the heck? ok how did he do that? i think he lifted the glass?!?

Maybe it's just my Christian upbringing but I always think Trinity has a 'gotcha' at the end of it all :D I didn't hit the link btw, too creepy even thinking about the message :D

Mmm... now why does he need the paper there and why is it that buddy standing outside can hear him perfectly when he asks him to come over and put his hand on the paper, even with the door closed and Chris only speaking at regular volume? I think it's altered, personally. If you watch closely as he fully emerges from the paper, his arms move strangely. That, and both the woman and the man holding the paper don't shift their eyes to watch him, they keep them firmly planted on the paper even when he's standing on the milkcrates. When Chris says "hey buddy, come over here" the guy reacts almost instantly - how'd he know Chris was talking to him (aside from the "how did he hear him" problem). He reacts quickly when he has no way of knowing that Chris is speaking specifically to him and he's meters from the glass, but reacts slowly when he's told to move his hand away and he's standing right in front of the glass.

That, and if you watch veeerrry closely, you can see the white-balance change right about the time he jumps down from the crates... it's most obvious if you watch the wall to the left, in front of the guy standing there (the one in the jeans that touched the paper).

thats a good point

Its called ILLUSION people, I was intrigued my Angel and Blaine so I decided to use google and see if I can find answers for there trick, you could probably do the same. The fact that neither magician performs on stage before a regular audience does not mean that these aren't set ups, and that things are not rigged.  That is part of their gimmick, if it is done on the street it has to be real right? Wrong.  I am not bashing these guys however, as they are really really good at "selling" what they are doing.  And its thats "how in the heck did he do that?" aspect that I enjoy.  There was one really good example of criss angel allowing the camera to see his slight of hand while he pick pockets two cops.  The cops can't see what he is doing and if the camera was shifted more in one direction neither would we.  So just keep that in mind you are still watching through a camera on tv, which means "they" are still in control of what is shown.

I think it's real, absolutely 100% real.
The second coming right here folks,
If anyone would like to join the church of angelology, or the church of blainetology, please contact me at ----

On another note,
can anyone figure out that levitation thing that Blaine and this dude does.

The one Blaine does most often is called the Balducci levitation, basically he stands on the toes of one foot, but stands at some distance from his mark and at an angle so they can't see the one foot on the ground.   The other one involves a crane, some wires and very good video editing.   Angel uses the same principles, although there is considerable debate WRT to him levitating in the middle of the Las Vegas strip in front of hundreds of people (as well as how exactly he stay stuck on the side of hotel).   Maybe he really is telekenetic 8)

I just find it funny how that ideal sheet of paper was conveniently sitting in the garbage can right next to the window....

What luck?  ;D

What, you mean unwrinkled, the perfect size, and perfectly clean? Ya figure?

Tonight Criss Angel's main trick was awesome, I don't know how he did it but it was pretty bloody convincing.  All I can say is handcuffs, pinebox coffin, and a woodchipper.  This illusion was incredible.

As I was walking today, I was thinking about this illusion, and one of the arguments that people used to question the "legitimacy" of it: how could you hear Criss Angel when he was on the other side of the glass (before the illusion happened)? My answer: wireless microphone, like you see people wearing for interviews. The camera crew has a boom mike to record the people on the street (you can see it in the reflection of the window at one point). Does that answer how he did the illusion/trick/magic? No, but it answers (hopefully) that point.

It's a cool trick, I have to admit, and I tend to be one of those people who tries to figure out how these things are done (usually completely unsuccessfully though.....)

Edit: I just re-read the posts, and realized what was mentioned (how buddy who came up to touch the paper was able to hear Angel perfectly) isn't how I initially interpreted it. Anyhoo, it's all about "the hand being quicker than the eye" and the illusionists always have you focussed/distracted by one thing or another, so that's probably part of the routine (throwing the viewing audience off with minor details). Still a good trick, especially on repeat viewing (I was looking for window to move/shift/etc and didn't see anything).

Yeah, I imagine he was wearing a mic, but it's not as though the guy on the street would be wearing an earpiece or the crew would be projecting his mic feed through speakers.
