Hello, I’m doing my MedA QL3 this summer at Aldershot, NS. How difficult is MedA QL3 generally? Is Aldershot a difficult base to be at? What’s the barrack living like? I’m nervous

Thanks!

You will be just fine!

I can't say the course will be easy or hard - it really depends on how much work you put into it, and how much of a desire you have to be in health care. Every instructor you will have was once like you - nervous and apprehensive. It's natural, and you will adapt and get through it. Be a team player and watch out for each other, that will make life easier.

Study hard! Take every opportunity to learn and improve your skills. People will be depending upon you. If you stay in and stay active long enough, at some point you will have to use your skills. Whether it is a knee or ankle injury, or a serious and life-threatening injury, you need to be ready for it. If you have studied and trained hard enough, you will know what to do.

I'm guessing that you are a member of either 33 or 35 Field Ambulance. I just spent the weekend with the Commanding Officers and Regimental Sergeant Majors of both units. They are good people who care a lot about their unit and troops. Both units also have some cool annual training opportunities.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!
