Hi, I went in for my medical yesterday and the doctors asked me if i have ever had surgery, and i said yes because i have had laser eye to fix a hole in my optic nerve, so my medical stopped right there lol he was all concerned and gave me forms to give to my surgen and my eye docotrs, im guessing no one has been in this situation before but if you have please tell me how long this is going to take and if they will even accept me thanks

What is your desired trade? You might want to reconsider if you are going pilot...

The forms are standard issue.  They just want your doctor to confirm everything is ok and nothing is going to impede your ability to become a member of the CF.

Stay positive, get the form in to the CF and continue the application process!

Good luck!!

hey the occupation i was going for was infantry, he said he was concerned if i had to get a followup on the laser eye and i told him no because my surgen said that then he gave me papers for him to sign so i guess i shouldn't be worried that much, thanks

What does your Doctor advise you to do?

When I applied, I had something similar, except it was a scope done on my knee. All I did was go to my family doctor (wasn't the one who did the operation, nor was it even in the same city) All she did was call the hospital it happened at, asked them a few questions (she didn't talk to the doctor, just to whoever had access to the files at the hospital the surgery happened at) then she was able to fill out the paper work. Took maybe 20 minutes, nothing to really worry about, unless there is something still wrong with your eye.
