Hi Guys,
My CFAT, Medical, Interview done. So how long to wait?

Anytime from 2 minutes to never.
Has the background check been done? What trade are you applying for?
Have you been placed on the competition list yet?
The list is competitive, hence the name, so there could be people that get selected before you, due to their application being more competitive.
Keep living your life until you get an offer. Don't put your ife on hold for an offer that might never come.

I am an applied Signal Officer. No background is done yet.
My CFAT, fitness test, interview and medical are all also now complete - which I guess just leaves background check.

I think the estimate above - 2 minutes to never - sounds about right!

The advice to go ahead with the rest of your life while the application slow cooks also seems solid.

For me, I started the application in March 2024 and and would estimate (hopefully) perhaps receiving an offer by maybe May 2025. If I receive one at all.

I think it is a good idea to check in with your recruiter every few weeks, but otherwise to just be patient.

for me, I started Last year In May 2023. Only God knows how long to wait.

It sure is a long old process....

Are you going for Officer/NCM? PRes or Reg?

Hi,

I know this has nothing to do with the post. I was wondering if you have any advice on the cfat? I’m writing mine soon and I been doing practice test/the official forces practice Cfat test online. I’m doing pretty good on the other aptitude tests but the fear of the unknown and not knowing what is on the real Cfat makes me doubt myself. I know I’ll do well I just wanted to ask if there is anything at all you could say to help.. and is the real Cfat the same difficulty as the practice test or a little bit harder. I’m going in the infantry in the reserves so hopefully the cut off score is low lol

Thanks for your time

Hi Kolby,

I can't share anything specific about the CFAT (we aren't allowed to) but if you are doing the online tests, or one of the CFAT test books available on Amazon then you will be well prepared. It's basically that stuff.

Advice? Do the tests under test conditions and to the time you get in the actual CFAT. After, check your score and review all the questions you got wrong. Make sure you know why they were wrong and try for a higher score each time.

Make sure you are fit for the fitness test part. Neither test is something to be afraid of - but do make sure you prepare for it with practise tests and hit the gym a bit if you aren't in shape.

If you have specific questions that I can answer I'm happy to. Could be we end up serving together, who knows.
