Midtown Barrie Evacuated

A section of midtown Barrie was evacuated for several hours today after a suspicious package was found inside the Barrie Armoury.  Municipal police and fire crews were called in shortly after 9 a.m. when the package was discovered inside the building, located in an established residential neighborhood.  Military police took over the investigation because the discovery was made on Department of National Defence propety.  A remote control robot was sent in to try and retrieve the package. It was brought outside and later blown up.  It turns out the suspicious package contained a number of practice land mines belonging to the Canadian Forces. Posted: Saturday, May 28, 2005

At least it was a good trg experience  ;D, but seriously our security forces need the practice to better develope thir skills.

Good on em for getting the job done right and identifying the parcel.

Cheers,

Wes

Sounds like the Logistics and Ammo types are messing with the Engr EOD trg program. First by redirecting the dummy training mines than by providing an opportunity to blow up a suspicious package ! ;)

What is this supposed to mean? Are you implying that "we (the Logistics and Ammo types)" planted this "package" (so that "we" can dispose of it) ??? Although the "Ammo types" are part of the Logistics Branch, there are no Ammo Techs posted at Armouries. Wrt "the Engr EOD trg program", do you understand the diffence between EOD and IEDD??? Just wondering what you are trying to say!!!

ooh the wonders of supply lol
Agree. Why were these trg mines left outside a door of an armoury. These are accountable items. Who signed them out? Who's accountable for them? Again, just wondering.
