Military obligations post completion?

I plan on taking Basic Training during the summer. I'm simply wondering what sort of mandatory obligations I would have towards the military once I complete it.

well i'm guessing your reserve, so after you do basic you have to do SQ and your MOC trade. Once they are complete you  show up to your home unit every training night and one weekend a month sometimes the units have more weekends or extra training times that you could go to but it depends on the unit you picked

I see. I'm assuming that SQ and this MOC trade are absolutely mandatory, so I'm wondering just how long does each of these steps takes? My primary concern lies in the fact that I'm still going to highschool and don't want to foresake it. Is it possible to complete all three within the space of one summer?

Not for someone in high school :-[. BMQ is 4 weeks, SQ is 4 weeks, and then your MOC training is 6 weeks.
