What they are looking for is military aptitude. You are assessed on that, academic aptitude and leadership aptitude.

So obviously, if you have a /good/ reserve record, your military aptitude will be higher.

I had excellet in all except military, and even there I had just above average, with no cadet experience or reserves... depends on how much you research your career.

yeah thats what i got good in,the guy said he was impressed with my knowledge of what it was i thought the militrary should be/ should do and stuff like that!

Oh.. St Jean is prep year. ROTP Junior Program.

Essentially, just under half of the ROTP acceptances end up going to St jean, due to lower academic performance, (lots of people with bad math scores from the atlantic provinces) and those from quebec without Cegep.

After a year in St Jean, they then go to RMC Kingston. Prep Year is a part of RMC.

I can see the emphasis on leadership and academic record. That is really true. But, I am just wondering if you believe that sending kids to a military school for boys help a lot.

lady therese, you have just brought back to life a thread that was last posted to on 13 May 2003.  The white member text of the names indicate that all but two participanats are no longer active accounts.  Perhaps if you clarified your post then the discussion might be taken up by others.

You might also note that this a forum with a principal topic of the Canadian military, while the link you provided deals with American military schools.
