Mounts, Dismounts and Lost Trails

For the life of me i can not remember the name of the bar that Al and his wife ran... Barry was his son. I did spend some quality time in that establishment as well as the Hansa Stube downtown.

How can you forget the name of their establishment across from the Stadt Park.....The Taverne.    Lance; it used to be Sonja's (Still have one of those Stickers), but they changed it to the Tav when Al and Momma bought it.   Loved playing Mya at the Bar.   Momma would get very upset if she lost too much.   Danny White had the largest "Decal" tallied up at one time.   The two of us had to wait a year to pay a couple of decals when in C Sqn Flyover.

Rumour had it that Al and Barry were looking into opening up a "Taverne" in Oromocto, but it never happened.   I hear Barry is still in Lahr.   (Maybe working at the Legion)

To any of the Falcons out there, the SALMEN in Altenheim has moved next to a Neukauf and the old location is now a restaurant.

"Tom,
It seems to me I can recall a story about a shortcut you took through the polizei academy compound with Gerhardt."

That wasn't me with him.  Though we should be asking with whom he was night hunting rats using NVGs and silenced .22 Anschutz rifles (Hint: Not me again - I miss ALL the fun!).

You said Jim is off to St Jean.....Promoted et al....guess that will not be his last posting, but an IR?......No doubts he has his roots fairly well set in AB now.

Speaking of the groundhog murdering king, I havn't been able to keep up with his whereabouts? I fully expected to find out he worked for Canada post and would hear about him on the 11:00 pm news ;D
Do you remember the story about pouring gas down the woodchuck holes? apparently when he regained conciousness after the explosion,   he failed to get a confirmed kill................... still gripes about that one.

Andy

P.S Lance did you ever run into Leroy? Just wondering how he's making out

Gerhardt is still in the Petawawa/Pembroke area. He had a nice house built in the area (with good arcs of fire on all his neighbours) and is well dug in.

Saw him two weeks ago at JJ's funeral

Glad to read he went.  Give him a call about going to Lilefontaine this year.  He didn't go last year and I counselled him on it.  We gotta keep the pressure up. :D

Funny thing is - Martin is in one of my PoliSci clases.. I dont think the majority of the class is much match for his argumentation; however.

Just saw this Meridian. Do we know each other?

Thanks for the compliment. :salute:

Here's a blast from the past, courtesy of Garry:
Ran into "Wild Bill" on the net awhile back, he just found gordy hardiman ..!!!

Apparently he's working in Jakarta (of all places).

Perhaps Garry pointed Bill Fawcett and Gordy in this direction.

I did.

Pointed Murray and Conrad as well- hope they show up.

On the "lost trails" theme, I'm retired now, living outside Cold Lake.

BBQ, beer fridge, and guest room are always ready!

Cheers

Murrey D has made an appearance on the site.  He is down Windsor way, still has his fingers in......

I still have a hangover from some home-made hootch he gave me in 1993.

Just a couple of updates for the older guys.

Angus Gosse has put in his release down in Borden, as of last Monday.  Tom Skelding has taken a CFR today and is off to Newfoundland to work with the Cadet movement.  Rene Leduc has also gone CFR today.
