I doubt Mr Anders or most politicians know or understand ROE's, theories of COIN warfare (or even basic drill for that matter), so I will take his sentiments as support for us and a wish for our friends over there to be safe, expressed in the sort of language we understand and appreciate.

Now if only I could get an MP like that elected to my riding....
