hello everyone. I just did a CT to Mse Op and i am wondering if anyone on here knows what the course consists of?

Does anyone have the POs for this course or have any idea what vehicles or equipment you get trained on?

I am asking this because i want to submit a PLAR and use previous military qualifications and civi heavy equipment courses.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Reserve or RegForce?

I did the reserve MSE-Op DP1 and it was basically a big driver wheel course.

The first couple weeks or so are in the classroom and you will do a couple online courses (safe driving I think?). Afterwards you'll hit the road as a student driver and get qualified on some different vehicles and finish with a field portion.

Hi there! Hope you’re doing well! When you say the big driver wheel course , do you get trained on big trucks during DP1? Thanks! I’m hoping to use one day use my msvs to get an AZ from service Ontario, thanks!!

MSE-Op DP1 is an overall relatively easy course. It will start with a classroom portion where you go over history of the trade, introduction etc.

Then you will do a few online courses on the computer. Safe Driving, Transportation of Dangerous Goods etc. you’ll also learn to secure a load and a few other essential skills.

Then you’ll get issued a learners-permit version of your 404s and start driving. You’ll have a few road tests and will get officially qualified on whatever vehicles they include in the course. You’ll also do some off-roading as well which is really fun.

After that you’ll finish with a field portion where you’ll practice doing a delivery point, blackout driving etc., and then you’re done.

On mine we barely did P/T and when we did it was usually something chill like a team sport. Our first timing most days was at 7:20am and we got dismissed each day before dinner at 4:00pm.

Again, not a super difficult course, especially if you’re already a competent driver. What could make it harder is if you have a couple people on your course not taking things seriously and causing problems like we had on my course. Had it not been for that things would have gone a lot smoother.
