Multiple application re-starts, new portals, positions closed... am I getting the run around?

I want to be a combat arms officer. My application has been in process for a long time. I think I did some online paperwork, then did it again the fall when there was a new portal. In the early winter, I was told the position I applied to wasn't open, my file was closed until January. In Jan, I applied to some different roles and was called in for the SEAF and a screening interview. But, only for ASCO and neither the ground force jobs I applied to. I want to wear green - so file closed again. I re-opened an application for Armour officer, and was told there are only ROTP spots for that no DEOs welcome - file closed again. Now here I am with yet another applicant portal, forms all submitted for weeks,(Arty O), waiting to hear anything.

I haven't done a medical yet, and I'm not aware of any security issues. Is this hilarious cycle of doing paperwork, waiting months, then finding out there is no job, just the way the army does things, and I should get comfy with it? Or, am I not really what the CAF is looking for but it doesn't have the heart to tell me?

Honestly your best bet it to goto a CFRC and actually talk in person with a recruiter to find out what occupations are open. The CAF has over 100 different occupations and yes they are ALWAYS recruiting, and that is the messaging. But it seems like you're throwing darts at a dart board with a blind fold on. Knowledge is power, why would you put an application in for a job at Walmart that currently isn't hiring for THAT position, but they're hiring for other positions - essentially that's what it sounds like you keep doing.
