pretty self explanitory.... thought some of this info would help.... ill be gettin into more detail about the course but if you read closely you would see im tired lol.

Please keep in mind that anything and everything you say in that log reflects on yourself, your unit, your comrades, and the CF in general. Some fo what you psoted is perhaps inappropriate for public viewing. You could land your Sargeant in trouble, and could land yourself in trouble for some of the comments about your course mates. I'd suggest you exercise a bit more caution in writing this- knowing your name and your course, anyone involved with training you could very quickly figure out who you are. Don't write anything that could get yourself in crap. At the end of the course, you want your course WO to not know your name- then you've probably gone through BMQ the right way. Don't draw attention to yourself.

I hope that there are a few RHLI Instructors out there that sort this out.
The candidate and the instructors on this course.

Matt-z you may want to get a better perspective about military life before you go on rants like that.

OK, I just read your blog, and I kinda agree you should tone it down a little. But I have a question for you other guys. What would you consider inappropriate? I have a site, for pretty much the same thing, and I'm just wondering if I've said anything I shouldn't, or if I should change anything? The URL is http://militarymatt.blogspot.com/ if you find anything that shouldn't be there, please let me know, so I can get rid of it. Thanks.

I blog, I call it my healthy mental bowel movement. It's quite an offensive thing.
It's also practice for creative writing etc.
But I try and leave everyday events out of it, such as names etc.

As for the original blog,
That doesn't sound like any Sergeant I've met, with regards to his behaivour on a BMQ..especially the "boring" comment.
I mean..those lectures aren't particularly exciting, but you're not supposed to say it out loud..infront of the recruits.

I don't think there's anything in the blog indicative of the recruits quality, I just don't see that so before we lose it on the lad let's pause.
And I didn't think it was a rant at all.

In fact, it pretty much sounds like...average recruit thinking and I think this could be an interesting experiment where we can see the natural mental progression of a recruit during training.

That being said, I think the first reply was bang on when he said no names, specifics etc.
But detailing the events, and your take on said events, is fine just as long as you leave out names etc.

I suggest you read through this thread before writing anything else like that on your blog.

Remember who reads this site, everyone, cause it ain't just your army buddies. Since you mention the name of the course, etc. on your blog, write it as if your Course O or CO was to read it. Just a tip.

Am I missing something here?
I didn't see names, course serials, even locations.

Am I missing something here?
;)  He mentions one of his coursemates by name, and his army.ca profile probably gives a fair bit of info out - I agree, that you should watch what you say - remember that your course is far from over...

*ooo* Missed that one, sorry.

You can go back through and edit that out Matt, that's not good.

Since Matt-Z hasn't been back to see the reaction to his "online diary", I've deleted the link to it so that he can take a sober second look at whether he wants to do this.

I understand what you people were talking about but honestly.... Some of you people TEACH these courses!!! how could you disagree with anything I say!??!?!?!?! I gave a REAL perspective for once and I'm told that I'm not sapose to post that?! OK i completely agree that some things maybe shouldn't be included in there...... But people come here asking what the reserves will be like and you want me to say O GEES a 2 hour lecture on law and procedures in the army IS SO exciting. I dint know about you but that sounds wrather deceptive to me... All RHLI staff that I had talked to completely agreed with me. Infact the person who gave me the speech said today "this lecture is going to be much more intresting then the last one"   "you are going to have to sit threw these lectures no matter how boring they are because they will lead to more fun things".    I know I may of shown some people in somewhat of a bad light but I have 100% respect for these people, they are informative and defiantly know what they are talking about.... apparently I didn't make myself clear in that blog. I dint mean to be offencive by this post, but personally botherd by some of the things said.

"Matt-z you may want to get a better perspective about military life before you go on rants like that" I do believe i mentioned how i loved the day.... I believe I'm the one of the few who actually mention that being trained in the CF isn't always fun. Besides If im not army material then I will know soon enough, i dont think you should be going around to new recruits telling them to question if they should be there or not, they would figure it out on there own. Personally i believe Im 100% army material and I have NO misperceptions about the army.

I completely agree with DE-naming things SO to say and i will go over it with a finer comb... but for all those people who say I'm shining a bad light on things.... Didn't you notice that the only person who semi defended me was someone who had taken their training relatively recently? perhaps because thats what training is like now adays.....

As for that Sargent, I must apologize. With a closer look I did shine a bad light on him. He is by far my favorite person In RHLI I have met. As for my harassing of my friend, it is purely for fun and I probably wont mention him again :-\ I will edit/clean/shine a clearer light apon things but I'm not going to lie to people and if you continue to say my personal insights are incorrect then i guess ill just scrap the whole project itself.

Ok I believe its completly clean now.... If this is still considerd inapropriat I will stop.... As for having peoples names in it, inform me with a pm of my mistake and I will correct it for security purposes

What course are you on and is it a reserve course?  I didn't know they ran reserve courses in the winter months at CFSCE.

As for teaching, I take pride in my instructional ability and have tried to get to the school but I am not bilingual and now they will only post billingual people there.  I know quiet a few of the instructors there and most would not say anything like that.  One thing though, try to get the terms correct.  The CO of the school is a Lt. Col while the Lt is only a crse officer.  It makes you sound more knowledgeable, capable and accurate.

No no no. He's not at CFSCE. I'm not at CFSCE either. I was referring to a previous thread (from like 2 years ago) that caused quite a stir within the school (or so I have heard.) Read the link on my previous post.

I just was suggesting for him to reconsider what he says on his blog so he could avoid similar unpleasantness.
