Hello ,

My name Is Tre Lamkin and I am a 17 year old male looking to join the Canadian Forces. All my life (that I did live ) I have always looked for my reason , my passion something I was meant to do and I believe the Canadian Forces are it.

I believe that I might be provided a chance to bend my will and my intellect into military service I will be a credit to the service. It is my intention to try to be the best soldier and patriot that I can be. I wish to provide by example what excellent things a person can accomplish when they are dedicated to a cause that they believe in and are willing to work hard. I believe the military takes your blood sweat and tears and provides you discipline, strength and pride in return and I would like to be a part of that.

My thoughts about what I want to do is open but I do know that Law is in my family and I would like to get more information about " CFI " and M-Police.  I have my Private Investigator diploma and will work on what ever it takes to better my future with the Canadian Forces.

I talked to and about the basic military training and have a very good understanding , but what I do not have is a clear idea of what or how to go about my future paths after?

If anyone has any ideas or knows some information that I don't please feel free to email me or reply to this post , any information is helpful.

Thank you

Tre Lamkin

Hi Tre,

First of all, this post should likely be in a different area, as it applies to your individual situation in regards to joining the forces and potentials thereof (In the recruiting thread, for example)

Your post was not entirely clear, but I will attempt a stab at it and provide my own (limited) insight. As a OCdt here at basic, your feelings are by no means unique - most of the people here have the same desire. The important point to note is that while many people want to be soldiers, there are many people (for many reasons) who also make poor soldiers. Your passion and self confidence is not a bad thing - but it might not be quite the experience you have created in your head. From my limited experience here on my Basic - you get as much out of the process as you put into it.

In regards to career options, the first place to check would be on the Forces.ca website itself. The second would be making use of the search function (or checking the relevant threads listed on this site). If there is one thing basic has taught me, it is that there is a time and place for questions - which is usually after you have exhausted all other avenues to obtaining your information on your own. In short, the information is already available if you look for it. If there are particulars not addressed, that would likely be the best time to ask your questions. There are also recruiters at every Recruiting center who have this information available and get paid to answer your questions!

If you had specific questions about basic, or the recruiting process I'd be happy to answer them, but read a bit around here first.
