Passed Aptitude, Passed Medical, Completed the Interview, Passed Work and Personal References.

Because I have bean unable to make regular payments on my debs due to the recession and my income being cut.

I have a letter waiting for me at the Oshawa Recruting Center, stating I have to fix my debt issues before I can be enrolled.

Here's the kicker; It's not even that much debt, it's less than Ten Thousand, who isn't in debt nowadays anyway?

So yeah there goes my summer BMQ out of the window.

Mabee Winter if i'm lucky.

I am sorry that you have to deal with this holdup but the issue is not that you have debt. The issue is that your debt is not in good standing. An applicant with more debt than you that has always been paid on time will not have the issue that you do.

That sucks. It is my concern as well and doing whatever I can to try to keep the payments on time, but it gets complicated balancing between different companies with limited income. I am hoping that making the effort of making agreements and trying to keep them will be enough to not get blocked by debt.

If you REALLY want to take care of it, go to credit counselling.

Once you have a plan and an agreement from your creditors to take payments on your debt, and you've actually made a couple of payments, you may be allowed to continue your application process.

A soldier who fails to pay his debts/bills (either late or not at all) becomes an administrative burden and could be released from the Military.

I declared bankruptcy back in January 2007 but have been squeaky clean since.  I do have debt, school loans, and minimal credit card debt but I keep them in good standing.  I had to explain my bankruptcy, which was from a failed business I attempted to start up, and show that I had learned from my mistakes.  They didn't even ask about my current debt of student loans (30,000) and credit card debt ($500).

Hang in there get your finances in order and you will make it in.  It is hard and takes a lot of discipline but it can be done.
