Well I‘m planning on handing in my application forms on August 16th which gives me plenty of time to train over the summer holidays starting June 1st. The problem is though I live in Kamloops and the closest recuriting office is in Vancouver. My mom lives in Surrey which is pretty close to Vancouver just hope on the skytrain and im there. What I need to know is how long from when I hand in my application untill I get to do the test, interview, ect? Traviling back and forth from kamloops to vancouver is very costly.

Advice or information is greatly appreciated.

They‘ll reimburse your travel costs (To a fixed amount).

And while I know it‘s probably a tribute to the TV character, people around here get offended when you have any sort of rank around your name that you don‘t actually hold.

You‘re not actually entitled to a hook until you‘ve finished basic training, and trades training.

That and it‘s "capt" not "cpt".

There is a CFRC Vancouver Det in Kelowna. 649 Leon Ave, (250) 712-4360. Isn‘t that closer than Vancouver? They normally reimburse your travel expenses by the most economical means, probably the hound. Give them a call.

Oh, sorry didn‘t know that. I‘ll change my name after I‘m done this post. Hrmm that‘s odd I called that 1-800 thing to ask what was the cloest one and they said Vancouver :S thanks for the phone number though I‘ll give them a call.

There is a recruiting office in Kelowna. Toll free number is 1 800 856 8488. Start with them. You may also be able to pick up the recruiting package from the Rocky Mountain Rangers on McGill.

I was gonna start a new thread, but this is kinda related so I‘ll just post it here.

If you go to this site,
http://www.recruiting.forces.gc.ca/html/contact_us/apply_now.html
in the first dropdown menu (please select the recruiting office nearest you) it has "Oshawa" three times.

I looked in the yellow pages and the only thing under Canadian Forces is Oshawa is the air cadets.

Does anybody know if there is a recruiting office in Oshawa or, if you can do the interview CFAT etc at the air cadets instead of a CFRC.

I have no problem going into Toronto but Oshawa is much closer.

Thanks.

There is an office in Oshawa, it is located at 53 Simcoe St. N. (905) 721-4000.

In my case I handed my application in on February 3, 2004. I did the CFAT and interview on March 23, 2004. Medical yesterday, May 26th and fitness test tomorrow on May 27th. I did my CFAT and interview in Kelowna, which was my choice. I could have done everything in Kamloops yesterday, which 5 or 6 other recruits did. Hope this answers your questions.

I don‘t know why you would have to travel back and forth all the time. I did everything in Kamloops, my Interview, Medical and Aptitude tests at the Armory on McGill rd, and my physical at the YMCA pool facility downtown. There is no reason for you to do any unecessary travelling, the file moves, not you. ;)

The recruiting center in oshawa is at the ONTR armouries. If you go in cant miss it there is a sherman tank infront of it, and usualy they have signs out front with recruiting. It has nothing to do with the air cadets.

Thanks you good sirs. I wonder why it‘s not listed in the Yellow Pages. I might have missed it.
