Just wounderin if I get any money for start up or gear or anything when I get sworn in on the 23rd I‘m in as a NCM non skilled Infantry.
I‘m with the 2RCR.
Is there a check waitin for me?

Privates make roughly $69.00 for a full day of work, I‘m thinking.

Wouldn‘t expect a cheque when you get there seeing as you have yet to actually work, normally you won‘t be paid until about 2 weeks after your first day of work.

Equipment is issued free of charge, on loan, so they won‘t give you money for that. However you‘ll probably get the opportunity to claim the time you spend getting outfitted as a halfday of work.

But no, not CheQue waiting for you upon swearing in.

What does incentive pay category mean? What about the "Trade Groups"?

Do those numbers include food/housing?

Incentive pay categories are basically pay raises within a particular rank. As a private you will receive two raises where your pay will stay until you are promoted to corporal. As for the trade groups, some trades receive more pay than others (ex. FCS techs, SAR techs). Someone please correct me on this last point if I‘m leading anyone astray.

These numbers do not include food and housing. You will be expected to pay for these out of your salary and sometimes you will be required to do so depending on your posting.

Ok but how about nessesities for when I‘m up there I.E..Razors deoderant ect..
Do they expect you to get everything with your own money.I don‘t have a bathing suit(at least not one I‘d where aroud a bunch of folks) So do they expect me to purchase these things outta my own small Very small income???

after being sworn in you‘ll probably be on unpaid leave until basic starts. I believe Che was refering to the reseve pay scale, but being in the Reg force with 2 RCR you‘ll get paid on the 15th, and 30th of everymonth, starting when you get to St. Jean. If you need money you can get a pay in advance for the first month.

Are recruits not issued bathing suits anymore? LOL, I hope not, those things were extremely ugly. As was mentioned before, you will surely get a pay advance to cover the costs of necessary items when you get to basic.

They dont even give checks, they put the money in your bank account on the 15th and on the last week day of the month. They pay is always 15 days late, so say you work o the 5th, you will get this money on the 31st.

And no, you wont be paid to get sworn in.
