New Guns for Border guards?

Seems like the whole idea of "arming the lonely border stations" might not actually occur straight out of the gate.

Would you arm someone who has never seen a gun before?    (An extreme question for an obvious reason.)

They should ask for volunteers who have previous firearm experience and anyone else with a keen interest to take a PAL course and then a Police Firearms Course. I want them to take the PAL course so they will have a little knowledge of the rules governing legal firearm owners.

Making all of the Border staff not likely to retire in the next 3 years to take the PAL course would be a fairly cheap way to start building the knowledge base and the course material for the restricted is half decent.

One thing to work on would be port security in Vancouver. Currently the port is run by the Hells Angels. Anyone concerned about this?

1) What does that have to do with the topic?
2) Do you mean literally?
3) What does that have to do with Border Guards?

This is your second post and you are not doing to well IMHO.  Please fill out your profile so that we know where you are coming from.

Are ports not part of our border? And yes it's well known that the port of Vancouver is run by the HAs. Ask anyone in law enforcement and they will confirm it for you. Report my posts if you feel I'm off base I don't care.

No, Ports are not part of our Border.  They are patroled by the Police and not by the Border Agency.
