Hey All.

Everyone calls me "Mav" short for the obvious- Maverick
I just finished all my tests in the same week lol Passed them all with flying colours so they said. They also said i leave in september for St.Jean BMQ, very excited.
I live in Burlington, Ontario. Im 18yrs old joining the Regular Force for Infantry.
I have done a lot of extensive research on my career path so i think i can be an asset to this forum although i have no practical knowledge of the forces lol.

I had a huge list of jobs from my aptitude test and i just choce infantry because i believe its for me.
I work out regularly and doubled almost every minimum expectation in the Physical Fitness Test except the step test obviously. lol.
Anyone out there thats got the same deal as me?

You finished your tests recently and they already gave you a job offer?  The officier told me I missed the may selection so it might take a while before they do a second draft.  I'm even more confused now.

The recruiting centre i went to was in hamilton - like 15 mins from my city. I did the tests in actually 2 weeks. When i signed up, i came with all my papers to open my file, then 2 days later they were already having the CFAT test (aptitude) test so i went to that - passed that, a day later i had the interview because i had all my referances in on the CFAT day, then 3 days after the interview i had my Physical Fitness Test and doubled all the minimum requirements (lol) then a day later i had my medical exam and then i said to them, "Now what?" and there like, we'll your definately in, u aced everything, the doctor sent and received your medical report the same day because it was clean (im aas healthy as a horse) so ull be hearing from us in august but otherwise get ready to leave mid september to St. Jean, Que.

So No, i did the aptitude test a few days after i signed up and i did it in Hamilton, Ontario - at the newest government building (its so nice and clean).t
Well i finished all my tests less then a week ago and they said september - but when i first signed up they told me July 13th, now its september for sure.

They also told me that officer cadets HAVE to do there training in the summer because there in university the rest of the time, so since i am only an NCM and not an officer cadet i will have to wait till there done to do mine - they go back to school in spetember, NCM's start in september - works out nicely.

Something sounds wrong.

First of all, the medical can't be sent out and return the same day.  Its got to go to Borden, and be reviewed by a very small medical staff there.  There is no conceivable way that it could come back the same day.

Second, after you finish everything at the CFRC, you've got some waiting to do.  They can't (and should't have) give you an immediate offer or implication of an offer.

After you finish your processing at the CFRC, your file gets sent to Borden.  They have different procedures for selecting applicants, but it isn't immediate by any means.  I'm not specifically sure what kind of procedures they use at different times, but one of the more common ones mentioned here is the Merit List, where they put you on a list and when they select people for that trade (in Borden, not at the CFRC) they take the people at the top of list.  While you might very well be near the top of the list, there is a specifed amount of time that it takes them to go through these procedures.

Are you sure you didn't misunderstand them?  Its possible that you might make September BMQ, I suppose, but there are plenty of reasons why you wouldn't.  The processing you've done is just the first step.

As an addendum, its impossible that you could go from applying to basic in about 2 months.  Also, there is no way you'd already know you're good for September basic, if you just applied a week or two ago.

Maverick,

I have the feeling that you may be reading too much in what the CFRC is telling you.  The CFRC has no control over who receives an offer and they will only submit your file once your medical category has been determined by the RMO.

then a day later i had my medical exam and then i said to them, "Now what?" and there like, we'll your definately in, u aced everything, the doctor sent and received your medical report the same day because it was clean (im aas healthy as a horse) so ull be hearing from us in august but otherwise get ready to leave mid september to St. Jean, Que.

I've never seen a medical file come back in less than two weeks so you have misunderstood what the CFRC told you.  I admire your confidence; however, I hope you are prepared if things don't work out the way you hope.

u aced everything
...outside of the proper use of the "Spell Check" button.

Something seems a little off about this.  I think you should call the CFRC and question them a little more about where you stand.

well of course i will look into as to the number of responses i have gotten conserned. lol thanks guys!

i overlook a lot - but i do remember the medical docto r(Hayha? i think his name was) saying that my physical was clean that he perceives no problem but i also remember him saying that he is faxing it over right away and he said he saw no problem as to why they wont clear it the same day it was sent (i swear i remember that) and then when i went up to the front desk to see "whats next?" he said that they need to wait for my medical stuff to come back but other then that ur on ur way and i interupted him and said "no the doc said that my med stuff should be back by today cuz its clean - i have no med history" and the front desk guy said "well then ok your on the merit list and the next session is in september - call us to confirm after august 13th if u havent heard from us already" and then before i left i asked one more question "So i am in? I passed everything - u see no problem as to why i shouldnt be going in september?" and he said "looks like your top notch, plenty of infantry openings and next session is in september so no i see no problem"
maybe i didnt explain my self in detail enough in my previous posts but i guess i am just over confident. I hope i get in - but i am on some Merit list - so i hope i am. cuz i just quit my job to relax this summer before i go - but i dont wanna work there anymore anyways...

any other issues u guys think?

I am definately gonna call on monday and just ask questions for the hell of it.

thanks again guys for the responses - true army brotherhood around here!  :cdn:  :threat:  :cdn:
