BZ to both the late Richard Norden, as well at to the Australian government for doing the right thing and awarding it posthumously.Australian to be awarded VC for Vietnam service.
Perhaps this will change the narrative here in Canada around Pte Larochelle's upgrading?

Don't count on it. The VC is too "British" for some and to award it would have activists yelling "Colonizers" etc
If the VC isn't going to be awarded, what's the point of having it? It seems Canada just went along with the Aussies and Kiwis to restore the VC and didn't seem to care what the public thought about it. Maybe they should just melt down the ones they've made and make a new top military award for extreme heroism under fire.. They could use the cross patte design but with the laurel wreath and maple leaf in the center. Calling it the Cross of Military Valour sounds too generic, maybe call it, the Canadian War Cross (Croix de Guere Canadien). Of course this will never happen, but it would be nice to have a top decoration for valour that would actually be given out.
