She called me a few hours ago (thankfully while i was still sober).....

IIRC the words hellhole and prison were used profusely

She passed her PT test

Shes had her bed destroyed several times

Her laundry soap was used to coat her bedspace a few times

And she asked me to tell everyone who told her it was going to be a breeze to go piss up a rope.....

End of report, more to follow

Ha, ha . . . a mate of mine is starting either this weekend or next.  Much respect to those who even attempt!

Ahhhh....the good memories!!!  ;D

YOu didn't mention if her dialogue was liberally spliced with profanity. that's usually a good sign that the system is working....a passing down of the working knowledge of "field mouth" (as my wife calls it). I had an NCO at Chilliwack who could use the F word as noun, verb, adjective, adverb and indefinate article...it was most impressive! God bless Camochick.

I see Camochick around the mega most days, as she has ended up living on the floor right below me. We usually pass eachother on our way to meals. We've had a chance to stop and chat a bit in the stairwells a time or two, but other than that it's hard to talk much since our schedules are packed and we're not allowed on eachother's floors. We keep saying we'll have to make a laundry date soon so we can hang out for a bit. It was neat to be settled in the mega already and see her come in as a "newbie civi" and then be marching around in her uniform a few days later. She has used the word "hell" with me about the mega many a time too. Very fitting some days for sure. I keep assuring her that it will get better, that the first few weeks there are like stepping into a vortex into another world, but that eventually you just adjust and I guess stop caring that a lot of things don't really make any sense..

Anyways, she seems to be doing great when I see her, and in a generally good mood. Keep up the hard work Camo.

I have great faith in both you ladies. Canadian Army girls kick ass.  :)

From Slade ...

Run run away ...

before we do kick ya' Bruce ...  ;)

Edited to remove my little note to Bruce; it sounded kind of mean, although that was unintentional.  :-*

Pickle thieves rock!!  ;)

Obviously, the assessment

is somewhat subjective.  It's always an interesting social experiment when trainee expectations and attitude clash with training methodology and staff expectations.

I think the conversation would have been more enjoyable (on both ends!) if you weren't sober.  ;D

So i talked to Camo again this weekend. She was out of the mega and off the base for the first time since the course started. Shes doing well.  The PT has been going alright for her and she got her cap badge now.  Shes spoiled living on the blue side (IMHO), inspections have been going well.

I also like to use it as punctuation!

Best of luck to Camo...Once I get out of Wainwright her hubs and I will have to get up to some tomfoolery in town while he's still on his own.

Ha!  Blue side -- man, I wish.  We were in the green sector... way worse, but hey, living in pods for 12 weeks was fun!  ::)

We just got a new batch of bmq grads here in Borden, and it's so cute, with all the cornflakes around again, and chest-high marching...  But I tell you, it takes merely hours for all of the bmq discipline to go out the window.  There's something about PAT that makes people crazy, lol, or simply apathetic.  It'll be nice for the newbies to get the shorter tech courses though...  Although they'll be 20 students per class, at least with the AVN side.  But including common core, they're only 6-8 months starting in October.  Lucky...

Good luck with the rest, Camochick!  You'll get through it.  Keep your chin up, and get someone to help you set up your ruck properly for the 13km march, trust me on that one, you'll thank me later, hehe.
