Oh man, I feel stupid. :-[
I made a mistake in an above post - the Christmas Card campaign was started by the Canadian Coalition for Democracies, not the National Citizens Coalition.
I'm sorry for posting wrong info here, and I'll try to make it right. Anyway, that website was www.canadiancoalition.com NOT www.morefreedom.org
If I had a clown wig, I'd put it on now.
What the CCD was pretty much as I described, however, use a bait and switch to turn 'supporting the troops' into 'support our politics.'
Notwithstanding my crappy memory (good thing I keep old e-mails), I still feel what the NCC is doing is wrong, it's just that this to my knowledge is their first kick at the cat.
Basically the NCC and CCD are/were up to similar things with slightly different methods.
Doh! Nothing like sounding off without airtight facts.
