Obtaining P.Eng as Combat Engineer

Nobody told him that's what his batman was for, I guess

I saw an Engineer subbie with dirty hands once.  I believe he was trying to polish his boots without the help of his driver... Oh, the humanity...

Now I know we are getting off topic... but I just had to respond to this one....

So there I was in the Spring of 04 in Wainwright heading WEST on BLACK Rte riding in the Right seat of the Iltis (polishing my boots, or whatever..) when the right forward wheel comes off and rolls into the ditch.  Riding on three wheels and a rim we grind to a safe halt several metres down the gravel road.  After I patted my body to ensure that this wasn't a dream, I said to my Cpl Cbt Engr driver, "Wow, that was some DI you did this morning!"

Fortunately, this one only ended with a red face and no injuries.  I on the other hand managed to keep my hands clean and my boots unscuffed.

CHIMO!

Now........the wheel came off or the tyre?

It was the tire and rim complete that came off...we ended up resting on the right side of the front axle....

What a day!  Shorts were clean though...surprisingly.
