Too Tom Falls,George, Lance and all ex Hussars;I met a a guy by the name of Kevin Birch,Burk?remustred to SAR Tech from the 8th at the Abbotsford Air Show.
He say's hi to all   ,we chatted.   Who was that man who jumped over the wrong wall in Cyprus and he and his mate ended out at O.P. Irish Birdge on thier own?

I just chatted with my brother and learned the whole story and I'm still busting a gut so need to answer. ;D ;D

Oh another Ex Hussar I met not to long ago was Hose Nose Jones,yup Andy Jones,he's living on the Sunshine Coast and living on a boat.

        I am neither any of the men you mention in this e-mail nor am i a former HUSSAR.  I am a former Elgin and have served with the RCD and i was  in Cyprus in 1989 when an incident very similar to this one happened.  I am not sure if this is the time frame you are looking for but i can assure that this did happen as I was on roto of OP SNOWGOOOSE when an RCD Cpl Jumped between an UN OP and a Turk OP to gain a better vantage point of God know what.........(lol) at any rate he snapped both of his ankles and has since received a wonderfull DVA pension.  I also injured myself (broken hip) on this roto and spent time in rehab with this fine fine Armoured Troop!

        If you need any more info let me know an i will help out if i can.  If this wasn't the incident you speak of, then enjoy the knowledge that there is more than one silly assed armoured guy who has enjoyed more that his fair share of time in the Cypriot sun!

Which Jones?

If you are talking about "Drew" Jones, from North Van, that got out in or about 78, I've been trying to find him for years.  We were in Texas together in 78, along with a few others.

If he is the same one, can you link us together?

Now, as to the guy that jumped the wall in the tour of 78/79, I wonder if he'll 'fess up?

I also vaguely remember Kevin.  IIRC correctly, he was one of the first armour to remuster to SAR Tech.
